a day off

Mondays are my days off. Nothing is officially scheduled until the evening. I had only unofficial things to do today. So, I unofficially decided that I would take a bike-ride. I had heard of a ghost-town called Ashcroft, about 10 miles from here, and decided I’d give try to visit it. Now, 10 miles is a long way, but it’s especially nasty uphill. So...I didn’t get to Ashcroft. I went probably 6-7 miles, and then rode back downhill (in about 1/3 of the time). I stopped along the way to look at the stunningly beautiful scenery and flowers. God certainly blessed this area of country with a little something extra. Here’s a few photos of the beautiful nature.

Good stuff, S'more. I've had a similar bike experience, but I started with the downhill. I've also had a similar critter experience on my bike (with your sis). Not good stuff.

From my research, Ashcroft does look like a good ghost town to check out. I can also point you to a few other sites in a similar range from Aspen if you're interested. Most of them don't have as much info available as Ashcroft does.

Call me sometime ... JRC
